Chemical & Minerals Engineering

Chemical engineering entails the research, development, construction, industry and management of industrial processes, by which elements are converted either chemically or physically into products of higher economic value. The modern chemical engineer makes use of mathematical and chemical ingenuity to develop, optimise and maintain industrial processes. The chemical engineer may be active in any part of the process - from the initiating development of the idea to the selling and final product. These processes are used in the creation of plastic, artificial fibres, petroleum products, explosives, food, fertilisers and pharmaceutical potions, as well as in the profession of radio active installations.
