Three NWU design students in London after winning grand prix at Construction New Media Award
Three NWU design students each recently completed a month-long internship at three top London creative establishments. Leana de Beer, Carla Erasmus and Gert Schoeman each scored internships at Digit, Poke Interactive and Creative Review Magazine, respectively, after picking up the overall Grand Prix Award at the Construction New Media Awards, held at the Design Indaba in Cape Town in February this year.
Leana de Beer interned at Poke whose clients include Orange, HSBC, Kate Moss’s fashion line, Yahoo and Gucci, whereas Carla Erasmus spent her time at Digit. Digit uses a combination of strategy, creativity, technology and research and development to offer tailor-made superior solutions to vast array of blue chip clients. Gert Schoeman completed his internship at the world’s leading monthly magazine for visual communication, Creative Review.
Apart from winning the Grand Prix, CI-LAB dominated the off-line category of the competition by collecting the Gold Award for the project Mossie by Leana de Beer, Carla Erasmus and Gert Schoeman (which got them the Grand Prix), as well as the Silver Award, that went to Gert Schoeman’s A Sleepless Night.
