Heja game lodge is situated east of Windhoek, +/-1900 meter above sea level, and is enclosed by the Auas Mountains in the south and the Khomas Hochland and Eros mountains to the north and west. Heja is the closest game lodge to Windhoek and although it has a lot of animals, it does not have the big five. Heja is quite simple, but gives the impression of a typical lodge (see pictures on the left). You can also look at Heja's web site. |

| Since
the pre-inauguration workshop takes place at Heja lodge most people
will also be staying there. Distribution of Heja rooms is handled by
M. Panter with preference given to external guests. Since reservations
and allocation of rooms at Heja have basically been finalized,
apart from minor adjustments, we provide some information about Heja,
but suggest that our guests who don't have accommodation yet, make
their own arrangements elsewhere as soon as possible (see suggestions
below). |

All
the necessary technical facilities are available at Heja,space is ample,
and the lecture hall and restaurant can easily cope with us. Accommodation
is, however, limited. There are only 26 bungalows, which can be shared
by two persons, if wished. |

Heja
has an agreement with a neighboring Lodge, where people would be transferred
only for sleeping. All meals and bills will be handled via Heja. |

People
who don't have accommodation in Heja should stay in Windhoek (close
enough by car), or, preferably at one of the other guest houses nearby
(+/- 4 km from Heja). |

| Finke's Sicht: | ||||
| One
possible guest house, 4 km from Heja, is Finke's
Sicht. It is situated half-way between Windhoek, and the Airport
(see map on the right) and offers all modern amenities like rooms with
bathrooms / showers and WC, public phone and TV, but you are in middle
of the bushveld where wild animals roam right up to the house. From
the terrace you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Auas mountains and
watch the game watering at a nearby dam. |
