The "Brandberg" Sale of Original Proof Material of Koos van Ellinckhuijzen

In 2001 the Namibian Post Office decided to sell its pre-independence postal archival material at Sotheby's in Johannesburg, South Africa. The sale was called "Brandberg", a well-known Namibian name. The bidding competition for these archival items was fierce. Many of the National Namibian Postal Archives (resulting from this sale) are now in private collector's hands over the entire globe. Koos' original proofs from the Postal Archives were also sold as shown in Sotheby's catalog.
