Qualifications and Application Procedure

Eligibility requires a basic degree with an equivalent of at least 180 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System).

For those not graduating at a German institution this must be equivalent to A3, according to German "Anabin" standards. As to content, the following degree schemes will, as a rule, be eligible: law, political science, economics, and social science. Subject to approval by the relevant admission board degree schemes may also lead to eligibility. Normally, an honours degree will be required.

Since the programme will be offered in English, applicants must provide proof of sufficient language skills. This can be done on the basis of a TOEFL test (paper-based, score of 550 or better; computer-based, score of 213 or better; internet-based, score of 80 or better) or on the basis of an IELTS test (score of 6 or above, academic level). The admissions committee may decide on waivers.
