Specialises in research on Spatial Cognition and Language Use in the Hebrew Bible, the Visual in Bible Translation and Semitic philology.
Teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate level, notably: Biblical Hebrew, Biblical Aramaic, Accadian, Ugaritic, Old Aramaic, Linguistics and Literature Study.
Author of 5 scholarly articles and one book.
Current positions in professional associations: Treasurer of the South African Society for Near Eastern Study (2003 to the present) and member of the editorial board of the Journal of Semitics (2003 to the present).
Has read 1 paper at international and 7 at national conferences.
