Currently researching the issue of Human Rights for a Christian ethical perspective. Promoter for several MA, MTh, PhD and ThD candidates in the field of South African and General Church History as well as Theological Ethics. Current and past positions in professional associations: Member of the Management Committee of the Society for Church History. Editor of the accredited journal Studia Historiae Ecclesiasticae. Past chairman of the Gereformeerde Teologiese Vereniging. Sub-editor of the accredited journal In die Skriflig. Director of the School of Ecclesiastical Studies of the Northwest University.
Has read several papers at numerous international and local conferences.
Attended the UN Commission of Human Rights annually since 2000.
